Empowering 36 Scholars Through Education

In a bold step toward unlocking the potential of young talents in Southern Kaduna, SKAID Foundation has awarded fully funded undergraduate scholarships to 36 exceptional students across various Nigerian universities.

Down through the years, the people of Southern Kaduna have faced deep-rooted challenges—educational disadvantage, limited access to quality healthcare, and the absence of structured support for entrepreneurship that could allow small-scale businesses to scale and thrive.

These systemic gaps have not only stifled opportunity but have dimmed the hopes of many brilliant, hardworking young people with the potential to transform their communities.
Recognizing this urgent need, SKAID Foundation emerged—not just as an organization, but as a mission-driven movement to level the playing field for Southern Kaduna’s youth.

On October 4th, 2024, the Foundation was officially unveiled to the public. In our inaugural act of impact, 36 scholarships were awarded to exceptional students—young men and women with dreams but without the means to chase them.

At the center of the occasion stood 36 bright young students—selected from across the region—who became the first beneficiaries of the Foundation’s flagship scholarship program. For these scholars, many of whom are studying in universities across Nigeria, this award represents more than financial support. It’s a lifeline. A bridge from potential to possibility.

Each scholarship fully covers tuition fees and provides stipends, removing the financial barriers that too often silence the dreams of Southern Kaduna youth. In a hall filled with community leaders, government officials, and the Foundation’s supporters, these students stepped forward to receive their offer letters. They didn’t just accept awards—they embraced opportunity.

Among the speakers was the Chairman of the Board, Rear Admiral Ferguson Bobai, who passionately outlined SKAID Foundation’s broader vision: to transform lives through investments in education, agriculture, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and ICT. Representing the Governor of Kaduna State, James Kanyip echoed the government’s commitment to quality education and praised the Foundation’s initiative.
